Yvan Muller not thinking about 2016 season yet

Four-time World Touring Car champion Yvan Muller will not make a decision on what he will do next year until after the conclusion of the 2015 season, saying it’s too early to think about next year.

Muller, who has raced in the WTCC since 2006, winning the title four times, once with SEAT and three times with Chevrolet, formally wrote off his championship chances following his first DNF of the season in Japan, which now sees Citroën team-mate José María López lead the championship by a significant margin of 74 points with just six races remaining.

Speaking on his plans for 2016, Muller was apathetic about a return with Citroën after two years with the French marque.

“I am not thinking if want to or don’t want to at the moment. I don’t want to think about it, it’s too early,” he said to TouringCarTimes.

“At the moment, I still have three races (to do), I’m not thinking of 2016 yet…I just want to finish my 2015 season and then we will see. The phone is calling, I will take my time.”
