Aleksey Dudukalo makes TCR debut at Sochi
Aleksey Dudukalo is going to make his TCR International Series debut at Sochi for Team Craft-Bamboo Lukoil.
“I’m glad to participate in the Sochi event; it’s like a homecoming for me, as I know a lot of guys from my WTCC years. TCR is on the rise now, races are filled with a spirit of wheel-to-wheel fighting and that’s what the drivers and fans like most!” said Dudukalo.
The 38-year-old has raced touring cars since 2003 and made his FIA World Touring Car Championship debut in 2011 for SUNRED Engineering, scoring a podium finish the following year at Slovakia Ring.
Dudukalo moved to Lada Sport for 2013 where he crashed with team mate James Thompson in the first corner of the first race of the season opener at Monza, eliminating the both for the remainder of the race weekend. The crash saw him replaced by Mikhail Kozlovskiy.
The Russian is currently racing in the Russian Circuit Racing Series, heading the points table in a TCR specification SEAT León, the same type of car he is going to race at Sochi this weekend.
