Onyx Race Engineering tests TCR Ford Focus at Brands

Onyx Race Engineering completed a test at Brands Hatch on Friday last week with the new TCR specification Ford Focus.

“The car ran well and performed as we hoped it would. The engine that our partner Mountune has produced is particularly impressive, very strong. We had a couple of things to sort out during the day as you would expect with a brand new car, but looking at the data and the feedback from Tom, it is very encouraging at this stage,” said team manager Mike Earle.

Tom Boardman drove the car during the test that was completed in order to further develop the car after technical issues in the first TCR race of the year in Malaysia.

The team is reported to have changed gearbox, from a paddle-shift production gearbox to a race specification sequential gearbox.

Proteam Racing will be back with the Ford Focus for the TCR races at Monza in Italy this weekend.
