Gabriele Tarquini excluded from race one due to parc ferme breach
Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team’s Gabriele Tarquini has been excluded from the first race at the Hungaroring after the team breached parc ferme regulations between the two races.
The Italian started from the back of the grid for both races after crashing out at the start of qualifying, and at the circuit on the calendar where it is the hardest to overtake, he had worked his way up to 11th by the end of the race, just outside of the points-paying positions.
The team have subsequently been found guilty of breaching parc ferme regulations by checking the tyre pressures before the repair time started ahead of race two, which has resulted in the Civic driver being excluded from the race and losing the position, though this makes no difference to his points standings.
Tarquini’s penalty is the only penalty handed out post-race, with all other incidents, including the aborted start in race one, having now been investigated.
