Raft of penalties after Donington Park action
A raft of penalties of varying severity were handed out to drivers after the weekend’s racing at Donington Park.
Although race one was penalty-free, the incidents stacked up in both races two and three, leading to a busy and late evening for the stewards.
In race two, Aiden Moffat was given two penalty points and a reprimand for an incident with West Surrey Racing’s Andy Priaulx, while Priaulx was given three penalty points and a £500 fine for an incident with Moffat in the same race.
Team Parker Racing’s Alex Martin; Team BMR’s Warren Scott and Ciceley Racing’s Adam Morgan were all given verbal warnings for their conduct in race two for separate incidents.
In race three, Honda Racing Team’s Gordon Shedden was reprimanded for setting his fastest lap under yellow flags, and was given a £500 fine and three penalty points. As the lap in question was the fastest lap of the race, he also loses one championship point, which now passes to Aiden Moffat.
Shedden was also given a verbal warning for an incident with Team BMR’s Plato in race three, while team-mate Matt Neal was given a verbal warning for an incident with Andrew Jordan, as previously reported.
Eurotech Racing’s Jeff Smith was given two points and a reprimand for an incident with Rob Austin in race three, while AmD Tuning’s Mike Bushell was given three points and a five-place grid penalty for an incident with Power Maxed Racing’s Dave Newsham.
Finally, Triple Eight Racing’s Jack Goff was given two penalty points and a reprimand for an incident with Rob Austin Racing’s Hunter Abbott in first practice on Saturday.
