Jordi Oriola joins Campos in Sepang

Jordi Oriola has been confirmed by Campos Racing to take part in the first round of the 2015 TCR International Series at Sepang, Malaysia, in one of the team’s Opel Astra OPCs.

The young Spaniard has already tested the car in Barcelona and says he has a good feeling with it already:”I have tested the Opel Astra OPC in recent days and the sensations are very good”, said Oriola. “In addition, I know the team and we will do a good job together”.

His brother and former WTCC star Pepe will also be on track, which will leave the two brothers to battle it out on track for the first time since their days in karting. Jordi Oriola will also take part in the SEAT León Eurocup with Target Competition this season, as well as in TCR at Valencia and Monza.

Joan Orùs, Campos Racing’s team principal, described Oriola as a promising driver and believes he will be competitive as of next season in the TCR Series:”[Jordi] is a driver with a very promising future in touring cars and this year should be an experience for him so that in 2016 he can become a reference in the TCR International Series. We are very pleased that he has accepted our offer because the Campos Racing project is very ambitious.”

The TCR International Series kicks off next weekend at Sepang, Malaysia, within the support package to the Formula One World Championship.
