Prodrive Racing launches new Ford Falcon FG X livery

Prodrive Racing, formerly known as Ford Performance Racing, has launched the livery of their new Ford Falcon FG X ahead of the 2015 V8 Supercars season.

“The FG X not only looks fantastic but from the brief testing we’ve done there are clear gains over the previous model which is very encouraging for us all,” said driver Mark Winterbottom.

The car was launched with the Royal Australian Navy and its flagship HMAS Canberra where drivers Mark Winterbottom and Chaz Mostert were present.

“My first year driving with the Pepsi Max Crew was awesome and with a full year under my belt now I am keen to get out there and give it everything I’ve got. Last year was a dream come true in many ways but to win Bathurst and recover the way we did after a tough start was just the icing on the cake,” said Mostert.

The team has developed the aerodynamic package during the off-season with emphasis on the rear downforce of the Falcon.

“The aero package on the car is quite advanced, specifically compared to the FG. We’ve been working very hard to develop the FG X for some time now so now the car is homologated we are finally able to launch it along with our new 2015 livery,” said Tim Edwards, team principal.

“This weekend’s SuperTest will be the first opportunity Mark and Chaz get to drive the car around a track, rather than just the straight line aero testing we’ve been doing, so we are keen to see just how well it handles around corners in the real world rather than just in simulations. We are encouraged by the improvements we have seen so far, so we can’t wait to get the FG X out on the track and see what the boys can do with it this season.”
