Petr Fulín switches to new SEAT León for 2015 campaign
2013 FIA European Touring Car Cup S2000 class champion and last year’s TC2 class champion Petr Fulín will make the switch to the Single-Make Trophy class for the 2015 ETCC season, as the class is opened up to allow the SEAT León Cup Racer based on the third generation SEAT León.
Fulín also took part in the World Touring Car Championship for the first time last year at Slovakia, winning in the TC2T class in his only ever race, held in the wet conditions, whilst driving a Campos Racing-run SEAT León WTCC.
Fulín and his Czech-based team Krenek Motorsport will again field two cars in this year’s ETCC. Fulín will race the León, with support from the Czech SEAT importer, while Michal Matejovsky will continue to drive the Super 2000 BMW 320si E90 in the TC2 class.
“Last year’s season was fantastic and certainly will not be easy to repeat similar success,” said Fulín. “The new León is a completely new car at the highest technical level, so I believe that with the support of the experienced Krenek Motorsport team and the Czech branch of the SEAT brand, we will lead the pace and we manage to defend last year’s victory in the ETCC.”
