Hartmann Racing join Monza grid at the last minute

A last-minute entry has been added to the EUROV8 SERIES at Monza. The two ex-works Mercedes C63 AMGs were purchased by Giuseppe Cipriani and Hans Hartmann, owner of the outfit which won three FIA European Touring Car Cup titles with James Thompson and Fabrizio Giovanardi.

Giuseppe Cipriani, a former Auto GP World Series racer, already appeared in the Superstars Series in 2013 at the wheel of an Audi RS 5, before switching to Mercedes for the last round of the International series with Roma Racing Team.

Hans Hartmann has a long history of touring car racing, mainly in Denmark, and ran the team which won several titles in the ETCC. The 54-year-old has been seen in the paddock as late as 1 a.m. to complete preparations ahead of the team’s debut with the two powerful V8 cars.
