Team Tidö signs Richard Göransson for 2014 STCC

Four-time STCC champion Richard Göransson has joined Team Tidö for the 2014 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship season.
”This is the beginning of a new chapter in my career and a new challenge that I am really looking forward to take on,” said Göransson.

Göransson is going to drive one of Team Tidö’s Saab 9-3 cars in the coming STCC and team manager David von Schinkel is happy.
”To be able to present this program after everything we went through during 2013 feels like a victory. We are very happy to have the most successful STCC driver ever on our side and I hope he is going to like it with us,” said von Schinkel.

The 35-year-old has raced for BMW in the STCC and TTA since 2003 with teams Flash Engineering but predominately WestCoast Racing.
”Team Tidö has got an interesting overall package with a strong technical base headed by Johan Kvick with whom I claimed the 2008 STCC title. They finished second overall in TTA 2012 with Linus Ohlsson, so the potential to succeed is for sure there,” said Göransson.

Göransson and von Schinkel revealed the news at Saab’s facilities in Trollhättan, Sweden.
