Esteban Guerrieri replaces Mariano Werner at Toyota
Toyota Team Argentina have confirmed their line-up for the 2014 Argentinian Super TC 2000 Championship, with 28-year-old Esteban Guerrieri joining the team full-time as Mariano Werner’s replacement, after Werner’s departure to Fiat. The remainder of Toyota’s line-up is unchanged, as they retain this year’s champion Matías Rossi, as well as Bernardo Llaver and Agustín Calamari in their remaining three Corollas.
Guerrieri, who has raced for Toyota twice before as part of their endurance driver line-up, finished as runner up in the American Firestone Indy Lights championship in 2012 behind Tristan Vautier, after previously competing in Europe in the Formula Renault 3.5 series.
This year, Guerrieri drove for Oil Competición in the Turismo Carretera championship, and now joins Super TC 2000 full-time with Toyota for 2014.
“I want to express my sincere congratulations to the whole TTA, Toyota Argentina and the pilots, especially to Matías, for another great achievement in this year,” said Guerrieri. “I’m proud to join Toyota Team Argentina and officially represent a prestigious team and manufacturer.”
Rossi will continue to race for Toyota Team Argentina, carrying the #1 on his Corolla for the fourth time in his career.
“Expectations are high for next year,” he said. “I am happy to continue racing with TTA and am already looking forward to the new season. I want to welcome Esteban Guerrieri and wish him well on his arrival in the team.”
