Krenek duo lead second test session at Automotodrom Brno
The two BMW 320sis of Petr Fulín and Michal Matĕjovský were again the fastest during the second Friday test session at the Brno circuit, with Serbian driver Dušan Borković third fastest in his Nis Petrol Racing Chevrolet Cruze.
The two Czech drivers were again the pace setters as they were in the first one hour test, with Fulín just over a tenth of a second faster than his team-mate, despite the fact he’s carrying an additional 50kg this weekend in success ballast.
Borković found more pace to go third fastest in the RML-built Chevrolet Cruze, whilst Mat’o Homola, the Slovakian driver, was fourth fastest for Homola Motorsport, 1.9 seconds down on Fulín’s best lap.
The session was briefly red flagged after Campos Racing’s Igor Skuz broke down and caught fire. The Ukrainian is driving the only Super 2000-specification SEAT León this weekend, with BMWs, Borkovic’s lone Chevrolet and the two Honda Civic FDs of Rikli Motorsport comprising the rest of the class.
In the Single-Make Trophy class, Zengõ’s Ferenc Ficza was the fastest and fifth quickest overall in the SEAT León Supercopa, with Tuenti Racing Team’s Jordi Oriola just two-tenths slower, down in eighth place overall.
Only three of the S1600 cars decided to take part in the not compulsory test session, with German Ulrike Krafft fastest of all in her Ravenol Team SAN Ford Fiesta ahead of the two Ukrainians Anton Zaitsev and Ksenya Niks.
There is a 30 minute official free practice session at 9:00 CET on Saturday before qualifying at 13:10 CET.
