Johan Kristoffersson to drive Petri Corse Porsche Panamera
Reigning Superstars champion Johan Kristoffersson has joined Team Petri Corse to drive a Porsche Panamera in this year’s championship.
“It is certainly a new challenge for me. We are focused on getting prepared for the first race which is really close,” said Kristoffersson.
The Swede, who also is the reigning STCC and Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia champion, tested the revamped Porsche Panamera S at Monza earlier today.
“I immediately liked the team, very professional and with clear ideas. This was my first run in the Panamera and I cannot say too much after a few laps, but I think I will have fun this year,” said Kristoffersson.
Team Petri Corse has bought and rebuilt the two Porsche Panameras originally built by N-Technology for the 2010 Superstars season. The second car will be driven by Massimiliano Fantini.
“I kept my promise to have a true champion at the wheel of the Panamera. We are working hard to make the car competitive currently with focus on the engine,” said Simone Petri, Team Manager of Team Petri Corse.
Kristoffersson secured the title for Audi Sport Italia last year with four points ahead of main rival and Mercedes driver Vitantonio Liuzzi. The replacement for Kristoffersson at Audi Sport Italia will be Ferdinando Geri, team-mate to Gianni Morbidelli.
