Dacia Dealer Team unveils new STCC challenger
Dacia Dealer Team unveiled their STCC challenger in Stockholm today, to be raced by Mattias Andersson this season.
“So far I have 99 victories in my racing career. I am of course dreaming to conquer the 100th with Dacia. That would be amazing,” said Mattias Andersson.
The car, named Dacia STCC Edition, features the blue and white colors of Dacia.
“This is Dacia’s third, big motorsport programme and the first on asphalt. The manufacturer has before raced successfully on the ice tracks of Andros Trophy and the legendary Pikes Peak race in the US. Those cars have featured the blue color of Dacia and we wanted to continue that with our design,” said Andersson.
The car is currently on the way to Gothenburg for wind tunnel testing with the STCC organisation, in order to secure equal aerodynamic values between the different cars. The first track test for the Dacia and Andersson will be on the 16-18th of April during the official STCC tests.
Andersson finished 13th in the TTA – Racing Elite League last year, driving a Saab for Flash Engineering. This season Andersson hopes to climb the order.
“I want to reach top five positions to start with. Further in to the season I hope to find the speed to fight for podium positions. The commitment from Dacia is great and this two-year programme is the biggest one so far in my career with my own team,” said Andersson.
