Jens Weimann and Thate Motorsport return for 2012

Jens Weimann will return for his third year in the ADAC Procar series and his second year with the BMW 320si E90, as the 34-year-old targets going one better than last year and take the title.

Weimann finished runner up to Liqui Moly Team Engstler driver Johannes Leidinger in 2011, taking five wins in the season, including both victories at the season finale at Hockenheim in the car which was run by Kristian Poulsen in the 2010 WTCC.

Weimann will return with some upgrades to the BMW this year, which the team has christened ‘Ella’.

Rival team Rikli Motorsport has already confirmed their intentions to return for this season as well as contest the FIA European Touring Car Cup with their two Hondas, whilst Engstler Motorsport, which have won the drivers’ title for the last three seasons, are yet to confirm their plans.

The first round of the series takes place at Oschersleben on April 1st.
